While Lance Armstrong was busy not apologizing with Oprah, John Galliano has been spending time with Oscar.
Galliano’s fall from grace was swift and, seemingly, irrevocable. The designer, who was convicted of hate speech for anti-semitic remarks made at a Paris café in early 2011, plead guilty and was given a fine and suspended sentence, but not before he was fired from Christian Dior, where he was creative director, and stripped of his Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur. Retailers pulled his eponymous collection from the racks and it was assumed the pariah had little hope of a future in fashion.
